Now you know what it means to get the bird

On the surface this is a poem Samuel Taylor Coleridge about a mariner that dispatches an albatross. Of course it is a metaphor and has deeper significance. Anyone can tell the tale but not as well (and graphic) as Coleridge.
It is interesting how people that never really read the poem thing quote and misquote the poem. One thinks having an albatross around ones neck is because the bird is bad luck and not that the bird brought good luck until it was dispatched.
I have a fancy hard copy of the poem. Although I also had some time on my hands and a kindle available. So I downloaded it and it was worth it. Mostly used text-to-speech but slowed down now and then to think about it instead of just reciting. Occasionally getting out the dictionary for a better definition.
Anyway if you are just a casual reader or even in you have a hard copy this makes a great addition. As I read what others find in the writing I shale find myself re-reading to see what I have missed.
