Leslea Newman has a gift for writing poems that are crisply constructed and packed with emotion. The poems in this book are both moving and memorable. I highly highly recommend "I Carry My Mother" to anyone who is grieving or who has ever grieved for a loved one--and for anyone who delights in great poetry.
