Hinge is beautifully concerned with both the epic and the domestic: the angry child, the angry sea. Lyrical and oblique, it excels as much, or more, at depicting frustration as it does beauty, and its diction is fearless in both realms. As in "Argument in Optative": The momentary winging out
/ of city and passage, the near return to a complete / non-sky, unsure of how far away, how near..../ It’s not that I’m unsure. It’s something else." Highly recommended.
