Poems by an Observant Observer

"Everything has its own small story," the writer's grandmother said, and in this book of poems, many small stories emerge. Beautifully crafted with precise language, the writer's words evoke enlightened images that plant themselves in the reader's mind and linger like an afterimage.
Poetry helps people pay attention to small things that go unnoticed as each of us goes his own way, the pace of life often frantic. Like a rest stop for the soul, these poems may help readers consider taking a slower, more thought-filled journey.

A Gifted Wordsmith

I have known Marla for many years. She is a very gifted wordsmith, and what would seem to be ordinary circumstances to others often affects her deeply. She has a special ability to translate those feelings into poetry. When reading these poems, keep in mind that most, if not all, of them were written about her personal experiences and feelings.
